With Valentine’s Day around the corner, members of the Royal Family will be busy looking for presents for their partners just as Britons will be doing all over the country. Most royals have a favourite perfume that they have worn regularly over the years. But who owns the most expensive perfume?

Experts at Showers To You sourced a list of fragrances most worn by members of the English Royal Family.

According to Vogue, the Queen favours Guerlain’s L’Heure Bleue, which was first released in 1912.

She also reportedly enjoys wearing White Rose by Floris.

It is thought that the Queen chose the former, a floral blend with spicy carnation, for her wedding day and it has remained a favourite ever since.

However, Floris holds a royal warrant, so there is some element of royal preference there.

It is also one of the more affordable royal perfume picks to sample, with a bottle retailing for £80.

Kate Middleton’s favourite perfume on the other hand is much more expensive.

In one of the few confirmed reports of royally approved perfumes, Clarence House revealed Kate Middleton chose White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum London for her wedding day in 2011.

It became notoriously difficult to purchase thanks to the ‘Kate effect‘.

However, before the product ceased to be in production, it retailed for £125.

Meghan Markle revealed when she was an actress on Suits: “I alternate between a few scents.

“I love Oribe Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum and both the Wild Bluebell and Wood Sage & Sea Salt Colognes by Jo Malone.”

Meghan’s Oribe Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum retails for £60, making it one of the more affordable royal perfumes.

But who owns the most expensive perfume in the Royal Family?

According to the experts at Showers To You, Prince Charles was found to wear the most expensive perfume at a staggering £245 a bottle.

Data revealed that Prince Charles has the most expensive cologne.

His favourite brand, Green Irish Tweed by Creed, sells for a staggering £245 per bottle.

In second place, at £130 per bottle, was Princess Diana’s favourite perfume, whose scent of choice was Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant Paris and is still a popular one to this day.

The Princess of Wales’ favourite perfume currently retails for £130.

According to this study, the most popular scent profile across all analysed royal fragrances is floral, which makes up 42 percent of the total number of examined fragrance notes.
