Aldi shopper shares trick to slow down speedy checkout – but not everyone agrees

If you've ever shopped at Aldi, you'll know just how fast the checkout systems are.

But while it's all great to have a quick checkout, some just simply can't keep up with the speed.

One shopper seems to think they've cracked the system after sharing their trick on Facebook.

The photo was shared on an Aldi Facebook group where it shows individual items spaced out all the way down the conveyor belt.

This technique would essentially force the checkout staff to wait for them to slowly reach the till before being able to scan them.

It was captioned: "In your face Aldi. Just so we got time to pack."

Unfortunately for the shopper, it didn't go down well online, reports news.com.au.

One person wrote: "People like you packing their bag at the register is so annoying and selfish.

"Try packing at the bench like everyone else."

Another slammed: "I despite when people do this."

However not everyone was critical, in fact, others thought it was a "genius" idea.

A Facebook user commented: "Oooh I love it! Packing at Aldi should be an Olympic sport."

While a second added: "Round of applause – this is genius."

Two members of the Facebook group who work at Aldi confirmed that many customers try to pull this trick on them.

One said: "I have customers do this, I just put my arm up to move the belt, let it all build up then start scanning."
