An Amazon customer was left in dismay after claiming a courier threw his delivery over a fence only for it to fall beside an electricity transformer.
Alan O’Donohoe, from Preston, Lancashire, shared images on Twitter on Wednesday showing the package lying next to the electrical devices.
The computer scientist claims he also received an Amazon delivery card which stated that the package has been left ‘over garden’.
But photographs of the lone parcel lying beside high-voltage power devices which Alan says were chosen as his ‘safe place’ for delivery.

Further photos showed a yellow danger sign that read ‘danger of death keep out’ attached to a padlocked gate – suggesting the item had been dropped over the barrier.
Other images, taken inside the fence compound, revealed two electricity transformers with more danger of death signs plastered across them as the package sat just inches away.
Alan shared the images and said: ‘I’ll just leave these photos here to tell the story.’
He added: ‘The safe place you told us about’.

Alan’s tweet has now been liked more than 9,300 times and left social media users in disbelief.
One wrote: ‘To be fair, nobody would think about entering here to steal a package so it would be safe.’
Another said: ‘Good work Amazon, I think that’ll keep the opportunist thieves away.’
A third added: ‘ I am both horrified and crying with laughter.’
And someone said: ‘Oh my god that is ridiculous!’
However, Alan appeared to see the humour in the situation, as he joked: ‘It’s a real shame – the kids had been promised some Transformers for Christmas.’
