Blackpink postpones virtual show amid South Korea’s COVID-19 regulations

Blackpink has postponed its highly anticipated livestream concert, the South Korean girl group announced Wednesday.
“The Show,” which was scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 27, has been pushed to Sunday, Jan. 31, due to current COVID-19 restrictions in South Korea amid the global pandemic.
“We can’t wait to meet our BLINKS as soon as possible, but in order to comply with the South Korean COVID-19 prevention guidelines and to ensure a safe performance, we have unfortunately made the decision to postpone THE SHOW from December 27 to January 31 of next year,” Blackpink said in a statement.
“Through our concert, we wanted to give you some sort of comfort during these difficult times, but the health and safety of everyone taking part in THE SHOW is our top priority, so, in order to make sure that we prepare for the concert in a safe environment, we have decided to postpone THE SHOW,” the message continued.
Those who purchased show access will receive notices from YouTube verifying the cancellation, as well as the refund, per the release. As of Thursday, there is a “join” button on Blackpink’s YouTube page allowing fans to rebuy a channel membership.
Blackpink announced its first-ever livestream concert earlier this month. The quartet is comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé.
