Boxing Day 2020 sales: All the major shops that will be open this year

Christmas shopping hasn't exactly been the same this year due to social distancing and national lockdowns, but there may be some normality on Boxing Day.

For those who still want to bag a bargain on December 26, certain shops will be opening their doors – so as long as you're not in tier 4, you can shop till you drop.

The day after Christmas has always been known for being an epic date for retail therapy, with many shoppers keen to buy items at slashed prices.

Due to the unforeseen events of 2020, certain stores have decided to remain closed on Boxing Day to thank their staff for their hard work this year.

Some of the shops choosing not to open include Marks and Spencer, Aldi, Waitrose and John Lewis.

But fear not, because if you are keen to head out and spend some cash, here's the stores that will be serving you on December 26…

Savvy shoppers are known for getting up at the crack of dawn to hit the Next Boxing Day sales.

Each year, the retailer opens its doors at silly o'clock with prices slashed on many items.

The sales start from 6am, but you're best to check your local store for exact opening times.

Debenhams

Despite Debenhams already announcing that their stores are closing down, they haven't said they will be shut on Boxing Day.

They are normally open on December 26, so it is assumed they will be this year too.

As well as homeware and beauty and fragrance, Debenhams is home to plenty of fashion brands.

Primark

Everyone's favourite store Primark already extended their opening hours before Christmas, and they will definitely be opening their doors on Boxing Day.

Unfortunately, stores that are in tier 4 areas of the country won't be able to make the most of the post Christmas shoppers – but hopefully they will be back to business in 2021.

Matalan

Clothing and homeware giant Matalan is also a popular choice for Boxing Day bargain hunters.

The good news is that their stores will also be open this year.

On Boxing Day, most stores will open between 6am and 8pm, but check your local store for exact timings.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's is one of the major supermarkets that will be opening this Boxing Day.

As well as this, store opening hours have been extended in the run up to Christmas.

Tesco

Tesco supermarkets will also open on Boxing Day.

Stores will close on Christmas Eve and reopen two days later.

Hundreds of Tesco stores will also be open 24 hours in the days before Christmas.

Morrisons

Supermarket Morrisons will close for Christmas Day but will then reopen for Boxing Day.

Stores will open at 9am on December 26 but will only be open for limited hours.

The Range

Savvy shoppers love a trip to The Range, so they'll be delighted to hear they're opening for Boxing Day.

Christmas hours are yet to be confirmed but the chain hasn't said stores will be shutting on the 26th.
