We’re used to seeing fun videos of Britney Spears dishing out home dance routines and inspirational messages to fans – but what we don’t often get a look at is her beauty regime.
And it seems that Britney, 38, isn’t about to give out make-up recommendations anytime soon, as the star has just taken to Instagram to announce that she’s ditching all cosmetics (or mostly all) to opt for a more natural look.

“Who would have thunk it?!?! After all this time in my life I’m just now learning that no makeup is the way to go,” the star wrote.
“I mean…. a little makeup is fun but after spending so much time in hair and makeup chairs to look flawless…. I think a natural look is the way to go…. it makes you look waaaay younger and so much better.”

But eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot that the Womanizer singer, who is known in recent years for her smudgy black eyeliner, seemed to be wearing some form of eye make-up in the series of “make-up free” snaps.
“Pssss YES …. I know I’m wearing mascara in this!!!!” she added.
She’s not wrong about the whole looking younger thing either, as fans were quick to take to the comment box to marvel at how much she looks like “Oops!… I Did It Again” Brit from 20 years ago.
“This doesn’t look like Britney it looks like a young Britney look alike,” one fan commented.
Another agreed: “Yes u do look way younger like early 20s again.”

But while many of the comments are positive, concerned fans also point out that the pop icon has now been “wearing the same outfit” for five or six images on her Instagram feed – supposedly bringing into question whether or not she’s the one that has been posting these recent snaps.
The concern comes from the #FreeBritney movement sweeping through social media at the moment, which has seen an influx of people demand for the release of Britney from her conservatorship (for which her father is the conservator).
This means that since 2008, Britney’s personal affairs, finances and career have all been “controlled” by her legal guardians.
Her conservatorship comes up for review on August 22, so fans are waiting eagerly to find out updates on whether or not she’ll be able to get more control back over her life in the coming months.
