Karim, on the other hand, danced to Drops Of Jupiter.

So, how did the hopeful celebs fare?

Of the celebrity performances overall the body language expert said: “It was a heart-breaking night for most of the celebrity dancers, who must have reached the stage in the show where they feel their excellent best is not going to be good enough for a win.

“Heady with all the excitement of Blackpool the week before, where celebs like Emma Barton received scores of ten for their performances, last night’s show seemed more about popping any inflated egos with some mediocre or even harsh comments from the judges.”

What did a body language make of the celebrity performances?

Karim Zeroual

Judi said: “It was sad to see dancers like Karim tearing around the floor using signals of ecstatic victory after his Contemporary dance before having to stand being told by Craig that he was a ‘technician not an actor’, despite the fact that his VT had shown him acting on stage from about the age of two.

“Could Karim be hit by the Curse of Michelle for his meaningful but not exactly accessible routine?”

The expert suggests Karim’s couple’s choice could see him face the same fate as Michelle Visage, who – despite her incredible previous performances – was voted out as audiences failed to understand her ground-breaking “Vogue” routine.

Judi said: “Michelle clearly made a big mistake in terms of voting trends last week for Voguing and Karim’s ‘jerky mime-artist’ Contemporary was an equally risky choice if the viewers at home failed to ‘get’ it.

“Craig’s comments about a lack of emotion were clearly being taken on board by a very focused-looking Karim, who was nodding quickly at the criticism.

“The guy is a perfectionist and could be accused of trying a bit too hard some times so hopefully he won’t come out next week over-performing the emotional content of his routine.

“Amy’s maternal body language suggests she’s a calming influence on her talented celebrity so hopefully she will keep a firm hand on the emote rudder despite Craig’s comments.”

Saffron Barker

Saffron, on the other hand, was struggling to bounce back from appearing from competing in the dance off to stay in the show last week.

“Saffron’s facial expressions last week showed how badly she was taking the dance-off and her arrival on last night’s show suggested she still hadn’t repaired emotionally,” Judi said.

“Any performer is taught to ‘cancel and continue’ i.e. shake off any bad performances or mistakes and move on quickly, but Saffron’s very incongruent smiling showed she’d lost confidence and bounce.

“Her routine contained some of her old sparkle but there were also moments when she appeared a little lost.

“The girl is such a smiler that it was sad to see the teeth disappear behind the lips and the dimples fade as Shirley told her she was ‘quite pleased’ and Craig used the word ‘sloppy’.

“Saffron was clearly desperately keen to re-boot, victory-punching the air at a 7 score, but she will know that she’s at a point in the competition where any mistake can be fatal to chances of staying in and winning.”

The expert claimed that judge Craig Revel Horwood appeared “genuinely irritated” last night, was it because Bruno performed on the show?

The body language expert said: “Is it too late to bring back Len Goodman? Not because Shirley Ballas isn’t doing a great job as head judge but to bring a sense of down-to-earth stability back to the panel and their voting trends.”

She compared Craig’s apparent bad mood to a “panto villain” and claimed “brutal marks and comments made it appear he was watching a different show.”

Judi went on: “He used words like ‘sloppy’ to describe Saffron’s dance and told Alex Scott that she looked as though she was churning butter.
