I'm in love with a gorgeous Italian woman but she stopped trusting me after I lied to her

DEAR DEIDRE:  I MET a gorgeous woman from Italy when she was doing a course here last autumn.

I love her and want to be with her but she doesn’t trust me after she caught me lying.

I am a man of 34 and she’s 25.

We quickly got into a relationship but she’s back home and we have to be long-distance – especially with Covid.

She has admitted to rollercoaster feelings of wanting/not wanting to be with me.

The main problem is I told her I was home alone one night when I went out with friends who posted photos she saw on Facebook.

She now says I’m not right for her. How can I win her back?

DEIDRE SAYS: You have to trust one another to lead full lives for a long-distance relationship to work.

You were wrong to lie but seeing your friends should be nothing to be jealous of.

Give her space but then suggest a fresh start with more realistic rules.
