June Brown net worth

The soap star has a mind-blowing net worth between £1million and £3.8million, according to networthspedia.com.

While being interviewed for the Distinct Nostalgia podcast, June explained she would not go back to the role.

She said: “I don’t want a retainer. I’ve left. I’ve left for good.

“I’ve sent myself to Ireland and that’s where she’ll stay. I’ve left EastEnders.”

Although she was confident in her decision, June explained it was odd to leave.

She added: “I was feeling rather down the other day. I thought, ‘What’s the matter? Why do I feel so sad?’

“It’s almost as if I’ve been bereaved. I’ve played two people simultaneously for 35 years. Really Dot wasn’t me, but spiritually she probably was.”

June joined the cast of EastEnders in 1985 when the show first began.

She played the mother of fictional character, Nick Cotton, and she stayed in the role until 1993.

Four years later, the popular actress returned to the character and was on the show from 1997 to 2020.

In January 2017, June was reportedly offered £300,000 for a one year contract on the BBC drama.

Before landing her iconic EastEnders role, June was already topping up her bank account with acting jobs.

She played a small part in Coronation Street from 1970 to 1971 which was followed by a guest appearance in Doctor Who.

June also turned her hand to theatre and has starred in productions including Rebecca, Macbeth and Calendar Girls.

While in EastEnders, the Suffolk born star worked on a number of feature films.

She played Delilah in Bean: The Movie and took a lead role in the television film, Margery and Gladys.

As well as earning an impressive fortune from her acting career, June topped up her fortune with the release of her autobiography.

The star took time off from filming to work on the book, Before the Year Dot, which was released in 2013.
