How many f–ks does Erika Jayne really give?
Kyle Richards says her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” pal is “OK” in the wake of Hulu’s damning documentary, “The Housewife and the Hustler,” which aired this week.
“I mean, you know, obviously it’s a hard time,” Richards, 52, told Access Hollywood on Wednesday, “but she’s doing OK.”
Jayne, 49, and her estranged husband, Tom Girardi, were the subjects of the Hulu/ABC News doc, which explored the former couple’s long list of legal troubles.
One of the lawsuits covered was a case filed by Edelson PC, a class-action firm, on behalf of a number of Boeing plane crash victims, who accused Girardi, 82, of allegedly embezzling settlement funds meant to help the victims of Lion Air Flight 610.
Jayne filed for divorce last November in what some believe was an attempt to protect those funds.
“While Erika publicly filed for divorce this month, on information and belief, that ‘divorce’ is simply a sham attempt to fraudulently protect Tom’s and Erika’s money from those that seek to collect on debts owed by Tom and his law firm GK,” the lawsuit alleged.
That case is ongoing, and meanwhile, the former couple’s mansion is listed for $13 million as part of a bankruptcy sale.
On Tuesday, Jayne was dealt another blow when her own attorneys dropped her as a client after the Hulu special aired.
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP filed paperwork to withdraw as Jayne’s counsel in Girardi’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy case.
In court records obtained by Page Six, the lawyers said that the Bravo star was warned of the “potential consequences of not timely securing replacement counsel.”
Jayne previously denied having knowledge of Girardi’s alleged crimes, saying in the “RHOBH” Season 11 trailer, “No one knows the answer but him,” in reference to her ex.
In the doc, Law360 features reporter Brandon Lowrey explained how it will be difficult for Jayne to separate herself from Girardi’s lawsuits.
“[Tom and Erika are] together in these bankruptcy proceedings,” the journalist said. “A lot of these debts that they owe in bankruptcy proceedings, [they] owe together, possibly. It’s going to be hard for her to say she didn’t know that anything was going on.”
