Man can’t do food shop without girlfriend sending snaps of the items
Woman thinks it’s ‘cute’ she needs to send her boyfriend PHOTOS of the groceries they need so he doesn’t buy the wrong thing – but others brand him an ‘incompetent man-child’
- Rara, from Jo’burg, sends snaps of items to boyfriend when he’s shopping
- She shared photos she sends him to make sure he comes back with right food
- Some internet users pointed out that her partner’s incompetence was ‘pathetic’
- But others said the fact he asks for detailed help with the food shop was ‘cute’
- One exchange saw him picking up grapes after she asked for grapefruit
A woman has divided opinion after admitting she finds it ‘cute’ that she has to send individual photos of grocery items to her clueless boyfriend when he’s shopping.
Rara, from Johannesburg, South Africa, who posts under the Twitter handle @Rato_K, shared a screen recording of the step-by-step guide she’d given her unidentified partner on Saturday.
Taking to her social media account, the doting girlfriend posted the WhatsApp images she sent to her boyfriend – which included snaps of tin tomatoes, spaghetti and even a picture of a pepper.
She explained: ‘He struggles so much with grocery shopping, so pictures have to accompany the list or it’ll just be a mess. Cutest thing.’
Yet many internet users were outraged by the post and were keen to point out that her partner’s incompetence wasn’t ‘cute’ and that the woman shouldn’t encourage the seemingly lazy behaviour.

Spaghetti looks like this, prawns look like that! Rara doesn’t hold back on the detail, making sure each shop request is accompanied by a colour photograph
Maybe she has a point: The woman even had to send a photograph (pictured) of grapefruits to her partner after he mistakenly picked up grapes instead at the local store
One raging Twitter user questioned: ‘Why is being an incompetent manchild suddenly cute?’
Another said: ‘Nothing cute here… Grow up!’ as a third queried: ‘Why are men just… allowed to be this clueless?’
‘How are these kinds of men even surviving in the real world,’ another unimpressed social media user asked.
Her post was liked nearly 1,400 times and more than 200 people commented on the 10-second long clip.
Several social media users compared the boyfriend to the woman’s son and pleaded with her to stop mothering him.

‘Lol you are mothering a grown man’, one said, as another added: ‘There’s nothing cute here. He can’t even do the bare minimum and you’re his surrogate mother.’
There were many who also suggested the woman was being played – insisting the boyfriend didn’t need as much help as he claimed.
‘This man knows exactly what these things are, he’s only doing this so you go yourself instead of sending him next time’, one internet user said.
‘He’s making this as difficult as possible so you don’t ask him to do it again, nothing cute about this’, another added.

One person suggested the woman order her grocery shopping online from now on, to which she replied (pictured): ‘That’s the route I’m taking next if it’s not me going personally!’

But it wasn’t all negative feedback for the couple – with several Twitter followers sticking up for the boyfriend.
‘I find these very cute and adorable,’ one individual said.
‘Relationshiping is so adorable, especially with someone who partakes in day-to-day activities in the house,’ added a different Twitter user.
A third said: ‘On one hand this is hilarious because he is so clueless but then it’s so sweet because he is genuinely trying.’
