Man fighting for life after being stabbed near Crystal Palace stadium

A man in his 30s is fighting for life after being stabbed in the leg near the Crystal Palace stadium.

Police said the victim was airlifted to hospital in a life threatening condition after the incident last night.

Emergency services were seen at the scene in Thornton Heath, south London, at around 8pm.

A witness told MyLondon: "A man was stabbed in the high street and collapsed outside the candy shop.

"They’ve closed the road and he was taken away."

There have been no arrests, detectives confirmed.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.

Croydon MPS tweeted on Monday: "Officers are in Farnley Rd SE25 after a man in his 30s was stabbed this evening. 

"The victim has been airlifted to hospital in a condition which is believed to be life threatening. 

"No arrests at this stage.  

"Call on 101 quoting CAD6820/19August or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Buses were being diverted amid the incident last night.
