A Marilyn Monroe lookalike who lives in the actress’s former home has claimed the Hollywood mansion is being haunted by the late icon’s ghost.

Jasmine Chiswell, 25, from Lanarkshire, Scotland, is a dead-ringer for the film star and took social media by storm last year after she began sharing video tours of the home Monroe shared with Joe DiMaggio in the 1950s.

Appearing on This Morning today, she claimed to have had paranormal experiences in the house, including hearing ‘weird voices’ and footsteps, and that guests in the house have felt a presence ‘hugging’ them.

She said that a psychic told her the house is being haunted by the ghosts of Marilyn and Joe.

The blogger has shared tours of the Mediterranean-style property, including a look into her ‘haunted’ bedroom, and unusual discoveries she’s made while living there

Appearing on the programme today, she said: ‘There’s been so many weird things have happened.

‘My husband and I have tried to debunk the things we hear, but so many people have experiences things we just can’t explain.’

‘People feel like they’re getting hugged, we have heard some weird voices weird voices, and we hear footsteps every single night, it happens all the time.’

Determined to debunk the theory, Jasmine and her husband checked whether the noise could be coming from the road outside or animals, before turning to a paranormal investigator for answers.

Jasmine stunned social media users last year with her likeness to the Hollywood actress  (Pictured, Marilyn as as she poses on the patio outside of her home in 1953)

She explained: ‘We’ve tried everything. ‘We’ve tried driving different cars to see if it’s the road, we had the house checked to see if it was animals, but we don’t know where it’s coming from.

‘We’re just both not sure, but we’ve had a psychic over who believes it is her and Joe and possibly another ghost that likes to play tricks.’

The blogger, who has amassed an impressive 616K followers on Instagram, moved to LA three years ago after acting in various BBC kids shows and doing a masters degree in acting.

She purchased the Mediterranean-style home, which she said still boasts original light fixtures, art, bathtubs, tiling and even towels from when Marilyn lived there.

She also credited her husband with giving her to confidence to embrace her love of the film star, revealing: ‘I think at the time I was so scared of doing something different.

‘He’s helped me in so many ways and he’s like just go put yourself out there do it and we go vintage shopping together’.

Speaking of her impressive social media following, Jasmine said: ‘It’s so crazy I did not expect to have that amount of a following and it’s just been a crazy journey.’

She also unveiled some surprising discoveries, including the star’s signature on the ceiling and magazines from 1953, a period during Marilyn’s short-lived marriage with baseball player Joe.

According to Jasmine, the pawprint of Marylin’s beloved dog Maf can be seen in one of the rooms of her home.

The Maltese terrier was given to her by Frank Sinatra to comfort her after she split from husband Arthur Miller.

Built in 1938, the walled and gated home overlooks the 160-acre park Runyon Canyon and boasts four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a ‘tower room’ – now used as an office – and a living room with a wood-beamed ceiling.

The 3,335-square-foot house also includes a two-car garage, a grotto-like pool and spa on the 8,228-square-foot grassy lot.

According to property records, the home was listed for sale in late December 2018 for $2.695 million (£2.18million) and sold in February last year for $2.727 million (£2.2 million) – $32,000 (£24,300) over the asking price.

The house is part of one of Hollywood’s most intense and short-lived relationships.

Marilyn began dating Joe DiMaggio, center fielder for the New York Yankees, in March 1952 – just a few months he had retired from baseball, aged just 36, because of injuries. He allegedly arrived for their first dinner together two hours late.

That September, Marilyn began filming Billy Wilder’s The Seven Year Itch, which includes the legendary scene of her standing on a New York subway grate as steam blows up her white dress.

During the summer of 1952, Marilyn and DiMaggio began to date more regularly and on New Year’s Eve 1953, Joe asked her to marry him.

On October 27, 1954, just nine months after her wedding – Marilyn stood before a judge and detailed her reasons for her divorce petition.

She said DiMaggio was ‘cold and indifferent’ to her and that days would go by when he wouldn’t speak to her. DiMaggio didn’t make an appearance and the divorce was granted.
