Prince Charles is said to be planning to take over from the Queen, with Her Majesty’s blessing, in the next few months.
A royal expert told how: “It is the Queen’s intention is to hand over to Charles when she turns 95. We are in a period of transition at the moment and it is my understanding the Queen wants to hand the regency over to Charles and in doing so, give him all the executive powers of the monarch.
“She will retain the title of Queen, she’s not abdicating, but there is enough scope within the Regency Act for her to step down should she wish to. We are talking regency not an abdication.”
As such, Camilla is likely to be preparing to take on more royal responsibilities too.

This could be seen clearly last night as she joined Charles and the Queen, shaking hands with NATO leaders.
What did body language expert Judi James make of Camilla’s behaviour at the event last night?
Judi told Express.co.uk: “By being placed a the end of the receiving line of top royals at the NATO reception Camilla does look like a woman stepping into a more regal role, with her husband currently being tipped to take over some royal duties from the Queen.
“However Camilla’s body language signals still suggest a woman ill-at-ease with the role and the status and this footage shows her looking characteristically awkward and hesitant rather than calmly regal.”

Camilla became an official member of the Royal Family in 2005, at age 58.
However, she had been close to the royals for a long time.
According to Judi, the Duchess of Cornwall is still uncomfortable with the formalities of her royal role.
Judi said: “After a double-handed handshake from Trudeau she pushes her hands down to her sides and behind her legs, almost clutching at her skirts like a shy child.

“She shuffles her feet rather than engaging in chat and after her next shake she goes from a steepling gesture to a clasp before looking away down the line.
“Camilla even performs the dreaded hand-wipe gesture twice here after shaking hands.
“Rubbing your hands together and wiping them together after a handshake implies that either your guest or you have sweaty hands, or that you are rejecting the shake.”
The body language expert reveals the role of Queen is something Camilla will take on to support her love, not for her own benefit.
“Camilla’s signals since marrying Charles do suggest that, although she’d adopt it to keep her husband happy, she wouldn’t relish or enjoy the role of Queen,” Judi added.
“She has always looked diffident and nervous at formal events and these feelings don’t appear to have diminished with time.”
