Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's New Podcast Clip Tells Us Everything We Need to Know About Their Marriage

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a big decision to step down as working members of the royal family this past January. The couple made their last official appearance in March, and since then, they’ve settled into a much quieter life in California.

The two just announced the launch of their new partnership with Spotify to produce podcasts under the name Archewell Audio, and the couple’s audio clip shows how things are going in a marriage that many people have doubted.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took the fast track to marriage

Harry revealed during the couple’s engagement interview that he knew Meghan was “the one” from the moment they met. And with that, he didn’t wait too long to move their relationship forward. The two became engaged after about a year and a half, a far different timeline from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nearly eight-year relationship.

Harry and Meghan married only six months after they announced their engagement, and within two months of tying the knot, Meghan became pregnant with the couple’s first child. Less than a year after their son, Archie, was born, the family announced that they were jumping ship from the royal family to a more peaceful life in the United States. Within only four years of knowing one another, they met, married, started a family, and lived on two different continents. And for that reason, some had cast doubt on their relationship.

The couple’s podcast announcement suggests things are going well between the two

Since moving to the U.S., there have been rumors that things between Harry and Meghan haven’t been a fairytale. Some media outlets reported that Harry was struggling with adapting to life in the States, and others blamed Meghan for pushing him away from his family.

The former working royals have kept a low profile since moving to America, but their recent podcast announcement gave some insight into the way they interact — and Meghan adorably flirted with her husband during the clip. “Say it, because I think it sounds really nice with your accent,” Meghan said to Harry, referring to which one of them would announce the podcast name. “Archewell Audio,” he said. Though a short clip, it clearly showed the connection the two had, and Meghan’s compliment toward Harry’s accent proves the two have kept the spark alive since meeting in 2016.

Some of the royal staff suspected the couple would be divorced within five years

When Harry and Meghan wed, not everyone was convinced their romance would last. The Sun reported in August 2020 that a royal aide once said there are “cattier” conversations among palace staff about Meghan, with some “giving it five years” before the two break up.

People have been wondering whether the dynamic has changed between Harry and Meghan since they left the royal family. And their audio clip tells us it certainly hasn’t.
