Ricky Martin is brightening up his beard.

The “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer, 49, debuted his new platinum blond facial hair on Instagram Thursday, showing off his flaxen scruff with a beach selfie.

“When bored, bleach,” he captioned the shot.

Most of the Puerto Rican musician’s friends and followers seemed to like his new look. “Blondes have more fun,” commented photographer Jeremy Kost, while model Yaya Kosikova wrote, “I would bleach the hair too! Would suit you even more!”

Joked Jesse Tyler Ferguson, “This is what my beard looks like when I DON’T dye it.”

Martin isn’t the only star who’s reached for the bleach lately; Pauly D, Ayesha Curry and Joe Jonas all went blond in recent months.
