Sansa Stark Actor Sophie Turner Says Game Of Thrones Season 8 Petition Is ‘Disrespectful’
Sophie Turner, the actor who played Sansa Stark in the now widely maligned Game Of Thrones, has hit back at fans who are calling to have season 8 rewritten.
As you probably already know, unless you’re among the minority who haven’t watched GOT or you’re still catching up because you’re feeling left out, the fictional series ended in a less than desirable manner, basically hyping just about everyone up to let them down.
As a result, nearly 1.5 million fans have signed a petition requesting a remake of the final season. That’s very unlikely to happen, but Turner is quite upset at the suggestion and has branded the calls for a rejig “disrespectful”.
“People always have an idea in their heads of how they want a show to finish, and so when it doesn’t go to their liking, they start to speak up about it and rebel,” she told the New York Times.

“All of these petitions and things like that – I think it’s disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season,” she told the Times.
“So many people worked so, so hard on it, and for people to just rubbish it because it’s not what they want to see is just disrespectful.”
The Change.org petition emerged ahead of the season finale on Sunday, with Dylan D. kicking it off.
“David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on,” he wrote. “This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”
“There is so much awful crap going on in the world, people like me need to escape into things like Star Wars and Game of Thrones,” he added in a subsequent explanation. “We fans invested a wealth of passion and time into this series.
“I’ve been watching religiously since Season 2, myself. I’ve read all the books and eagerly await the next two. I love this story, and I, like most of you, was crushed to see how the last season (and Season 7, let’s be real) has been handled.”
We fear poor Dylan could be sent off to the Night’s Watch if this petition falls through.
