The Royal Family Just Released a Shocking Statement About Queen Elizabeth's Retirement

At age 93, Queen Elizabeth is still living her best life. Though her husband, Prince Philip has retired from public life, the Crowned Queen is still undertaking royal events, duties and various roles as the Sovereign. Since she has been on the throne since 1952, the queen has weathered personal and political scandals while maintaining an air of dignity and grace.

However, since she is fully in her wiser years and her eldest son Prince Charles is already 71, there have been many whispers about when the queen might retire and allow the prince to ascend to the throne. It would seem that after nearly seven decades in her position, she’d be more than happy for a nice long rest.

Though Buckingham Palace hadn’t made any official announcements surrounding the queen’s eventual retirement — rumors and a viral post that she’d passed away have prompted them to make a very rare statement about when she’ll leave public life.

Queen Elizabeth still performs all of her royal duties

Queen Elizabeth was only 25 years old when her father died from lung cancer at age 56. As a result, she has ruled longer than anyone else in British Royal History. Since this is the only life she’s ever known, we can imagine how strange it might feel for her to leave it behind.

Though she’s 93 — the queen’s mother lived until she was 101. Queen Elizabeth still has all of her full physical and mental capabilities. In fact, there really isn’t such a thing as “retirement” in the royal family. Like the Supreme Court Justices — royals perform their duties until they are “incapable” of doing so.

The queen has scaled back some of her duties handing them off to Prince William, Duchess Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Duchess Meghan Markle. However, for the most part, she’s still has a very full schedule.

Today, The Queen visited the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) village to celebrate the charity’s centenary year. The charity supports Armed Forces personnel and veterans, and their families, as well as people who have been long-term unemployed. During the visit in Kent Her Majesty opened the new Appleton Lodge care facility and visited the Centenary Village housing project. The lodge provides care for residents as well as local people in the area. She also met RBLI Village’s eldest resident, 99-year old WWII veteran John Riggs, and his family. Finally, The Queen visited the RBLI Centenary Village, to see the completed first phase of the development, which includes specially-adapted apartments for wounded former military personnel. Queen Elizbeth wants to make sure her family legacy is intact

Though Prince Charles has some ideas for the royal family — he certainly isn’t the most beloved member. Currently, the royals are also in the midst of a bit of a scandal. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle have retreated from the spotlight due to harassment and bullying.

Also, Prince Andrew has just stepped down as a senior member of the royal family due to his association with the late sex-offender Jefferey Epstein. If the queen did want to step down from the throne, now might not be the best time to do so. “Her mother lived to 101. The Queen is there for the long run…she could live for at least another 10 years,” True Royalty TV editor Nick Bullen explained to Daily Mail. “She’s seen it all, she’s done it all, she is the ultimate working mother and working woman, and I don’t think she’s going anywhere, anytime soon.”

This week, The Queen has attended several engagements. On Monday Her Majesty officially opened a new session of Parliament at the Palace of Westminster. On Tuesday, she attended a service to mark the 750th year of the consecration of Westminster Abbey and on Thursday she held a reception at Buckingham Palace celebrating the work of The Queen’s Trust following its closure earlier this year. The Trust’s daughter charity, The Queen's Commonwealth Trust will continue the legacy of the Trust’s work going forward. Throughout the week Her Majesty has held several Audiences including the weekly meeting with the Prime Minister. The Queen also received in Audience the Ambassador from the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Gurly Gibson, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Abdalla Idris Mohamed, Ambassador from the Republic of Sudan and His Excellency the Right Reverend David Vunagi upon his appointment as Governor-General of Solomon Islands. Buckingham Palace just released a rare statement about Queen Elizabeth’s retirement

In the wake of the Prince Andrew scandal, and with knowledge that Prince Charles has always wanted to slim down the royal family –rumors have buzzed that Queen Elizabeth will retire at age 95 in 2021. However, in a statement, Buckingham Palace just shut down that noise.

“There are no plans for any change in arrangements at the age of 95 — or any other age,” a spokesman declared. Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith reminds everyone that a queen doesn’t simply retire. “The Queen can’t just wave a queen wand and say Charles you are my regent,” Bedell Smith explained. “It’s not her call — and it’s not his call.”

It looks like Queen Elizabeth will be sitting on her throne until the end.
