Who should I bet on in the race?
Templegate – REGAL REALITY has spent most of his career in Group races so this is a major drop in class for Sir Michael Stoute’s five-year-old.
He was last seen pitched into the Champion Stakes over course and distance but that was a bridge too far. He held his own in other high-class contests including when third in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown after earlier winning the Brigadier Gerard Stakes there. If this was a handicap he’d be giving weight away to allcomers but is actually getting 5lb from one of his rivals. He should be right there at the finish.
Matt Chapman – I can’t wait to see SIR DRAGONET here, who once upon a time looked an absolute possible star and was fifth in the Derby. I have a feeling this will prove his perfect trip and at this level and he’s Nap material for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore.
Trends – It's DUBAI WARRIOR that ticks all the trends boxes and looks the one to beat for John Gosden with Rab Havlin doing the steering.
