THE January transfer window has very nearly arrived and the world's biggest clubs are making their plans.

Most notably, Edinson Cavani may have already signed for Atletico Madrid.

Yet, there could be bigger as Manchester United have reportedly told Juventus they will accept £52m plus Emre Can from Juventus in return for Paul Pogba.

  • MANCHESTER UNITED target Milan Mandzukic has shocked Europe's top clubs by swapping Juventus for Qatari league leaders Al-Duhail,

    Croatia striker Mandzukic, 33, has regularly been linked with Old Trafford, especially after Juve boss Maurizio Sarri snubbed him all this season.

    But United's interest is said to have waned last month and now the 2018 World Cup finalist, whose goal saw off England in the semis, has opted for what could be a big final pay-day in the Middle East.

    United chief Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now seems likely to focus on recruiting fellow Norwegian Erling Haaland, 19, who has been in sensational scoring form for Austrians RB Salzburg forward.

  • JOSE MOURINHO is ready to do battle with former club Manchester United to sign highly-rated Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, according to reports in France.

    The France Under-21 international is a wanted man across Europe after impressing in the middle of the park in Ligue 1.

    And, according to L'Equipe, Lille are ready to cash in with former Swansea and Bayern Munich flop Renato Sanches having a renaissance season.

    Soumare, who is under contract until summer 2023, could command a transfer fee of around £50MILLION.

    Napoli, Real Madrid and Valencia have all been linked with the 6ft 2in midfielder, who has played 23 matches this season.

    It was initially thought that Lille would push for a loan back to the club if he was moved on in the winter transfer window.

    But the latest reports indicate they could well sell him outright.

  • NEMANJA MATIC and Marcos Rojo are being put up for sale by Manchester United.

    According to reports, the pair are unwanted by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is ready to let them both leave after a lack of game time this season.

    The transfer window reopens in a week's time and the experienced pair should attract interest.

    According to the Times, Rojo, 29,  is on £160,000 a week at Old Trafford, while Matic, 31, is paid around £120,000 a week.

    The Argentina international last played in the closing moments of United's 3-1 home win against Brighton in November and has been nursing an injury since.

    Matic, meanwhile, has also suffered injuries this season, and has been restricted to cup games under Solskjaer.

  • ARSENAL will look to Lyon striker Moussa Dembele to replace Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if they leave, according to French reports.

    Gunners pair Lacazette and Aubameyang have been linked with moves away from the Emirates as the North Londoner’s desperately struggle in 11th this season.

    And according to Le10sport, Lyon’s Dembele has emerged as Arsenal’s prime replacement if they are to lose one of their goalscorers.

    It is claimed Emirates chiefs will keep tabs on the 23-year-old over the winter and summer transfer windows.

    Dembele has notched 10 goals in 18 Ligue 1 matches this season but failed to score in the Champions League.

    The former Fulham and Celtic forward twice scored against Arsenal in the summer as Lyon won the Emirates Cup.
