Stick around for the latest news and gossip from the Emirates…
DANI CEBALLOS has opened up about his “hero” Jose Antonio Reyes ahead of Arsenal's clash with Tottenham.
The former Gunners forward died earlier this year at the age of 35 in an horrific car crash.
Reyes had spent three years at Arsenal, scoring 23 times in 110 games – with Ceballos hailing from the same southern Spanish town as the former striker, Utrera.
Now Ceballos, 23, revealed he is “proud to follow in his footsteps” ahead of the North London Derby.
Ceballos revealed: “I joined Arsenal not long after Reyes died. He was on my mind a lot around that time.
“I'm sure he would have given me lots of recommendations on good stuff to do here in London.
“That was impossible because of his death, which was sad news for the world of football.
“I'm sure he's up there, proud that I'm following in his footsteps and I'm proud to be following in his footsteps too.”
DAVID LUIZ has a point to prove against Tottenham in the north London derby, according to Danny Murphy.
“I watched the former Chelsea defender against Burnley and he played so well against a physical team that can really test you, with Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes,” he told the Daily Mail.
“But he went on to have a nightmare against Liverpool.
“I know Jurgen Klopp's side are a different challenge entirely but the two performances summed him up perfectly: brilliant one week, lets you down the next.
“It wasn't so much making mistakes, it was doing the wrong things. He has got a real point to prove.”
TOTTENHAM boss Mauricio Pochettino has stated that Arsenal signing three-big money attackers in the last two years highlights the difference between their projects.
He told the Telegraph: “Arsenal in the last two years signed [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, the best striker in Germany, [Alexandre] Lacazette, the best striker in France, and one year after, [Nicolas] Pepe.
“If you see us in five years we didn’t sign one striker and now our main striker is Harry Kane, but our second striker is 17 years old, Troy Parrott. That is the difference in the projects.”
EXCLUSIVE by Dan King: ARSENAL legend George Graham says Gunners lag behind Spurs but that all the pressure is on Pochettino for North London derby.
Speaking to SunSport he said: “If Arsenal get into the top four, then it will be a fantastic season. For Spurs, it’s winning a trophy.
“There’s more expected from Tottenham. Most people realise they have a very good manager — but he still hasn’t won anything.
“Arsenal have a lot more work to do than Tottenham.”
ARSENAL could start Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in the North London derby.
Unai Emery has been slated by fans and pundits, including Ian Wright, alike for not starting his star trio together – with Lacazette on the bench for the 3-1 loss against Liverpool.
