6.30pm Tottenham news LIVE: ‘No evidence’ of Rudiger racism, Lemar £5m loan-to-buy, Mitrovic could replace Kane – The Sun
JOSE MOURINHO is looking for improvements to his Tottenham squad in the January transfer window.
Spurs are on the lookout for new defenders, while Harry Kane's injury means they will also be prioritising a centre-forward.
TOTTENHAM have provided an update on the alleged racism incident against Chelsea after Blues ace Antonio Rudiger claimed he was targeted.
Spurs said: “The Club and the Metropolitan Police have now exhausted all avenues of investigation following the reported incident at our home fixture against Chelsea on 22 December.
“We carried out extensive reviews of CCTV images and footage, working with professional lip readers. All materials and reports have now also been reviewed by the police who have carried out their own investigation.
“The police have notified us today that, having reviewed and investigated, they have closed the crime report as they can find no evidence to support the allegation of racial abuse.
“We fully support Antonio Rudiger with the action that he took – however there is no evidence to corroborate or contradict the allegation and as such neither ourselves nor the police are in a position to take any further action.
“We are fiercely proud of our anti-racism work and our zero tolerance of any form of discrimination. This is one reason why we have attributed so much time and resource to investigating this matter.
“Had we identified anyone guilty of this we were intent on issuing them with a lifetime ban from our stadium as they would have no place among our proud, diverse fan base.
“If any new information comes to light, this will be fully investigated.”
PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG has revealed the one thing he does before facing Tottenham.
In a clip for Arsenal's YouTube channel, the Gabon forward points to a picture of his haircut from a previous derby day.
With the star shaved into the side of his head pointed out by the presenters, Aubameyang noted: “I do the star, only against Tottenham.
“Before the game against Tottenham, always I do a star.”
TOTTENHAM have emerged as a potential candidate to snap up Arsenal target Thomas Lemar.
The Atletico Madrid flop cost the Spaniards £53million and The Independent report of a possible loan switch to Spurs.
An initial £5m fee would bring Lemar over to Tottenham Stadium before a £51m purchase clause.
But Arsenal might have something to say about that first with Mikel Arteta's side long-term admirers of the winger.

TOTTENHAM are hopeful that youth team star Troy Parrott will sign a new contract with the club.
Many fans have named the Irish teenager as a potential call-up to the senior side while Harry Kane is injured.
But Jose Mourinho feels the 17-year-old is not quite ready for that honour.
He told reporters: “The next step for him is to sign a new contract at the club long-term and then it is for everyone to decide what is best for is development.
“In this club we care about our players. It is also to find the best pathway to develop.
“Some minutes will arrive like it happened against Burnley, and step by step but [we are] not in a situation where we see Harry Kane is injured and Parrott is the man to resolve our problems.”
