  • LO AND BEHOLD

The time has come. A first Manchester United start for Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo.

The ex Watford forward and boyhood United fan has been limited to cameo appearances off the bench so far in his Old Trafford career.

He will make a full home debut in the Europa League against Club Brugge .

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made seven changes from the first leg – which ended 1-1 – as United look to progress into the Last 16.

  • BECK THE BOSS

Former Manchester United legend David Beckham has thrown his support behind the club's Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Inter Miami CF owner Becks praised his former team-mate for doing a “good-job” at Old Trafford.

He told Sky Sports: “I think he is doing a good job. The fact that Ole has stepped in and stepped up.

“He continues to come out and be positive about the players and he has learnt that from the boss [Sir Alex Ferguson].

“He is still learning but at the end of the day Ole will protect his players and protect Manchester United.

“Every Manchester United fan will be behind Ole because A – he is a great person and B – what he has done for Manchester United over the years.”

  • GEA WE GO

David De Gea could be sacrificed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Man Utd boss looks to strengthen his squad.

According to Goal, Paul Pogba will leave but his transfer will see the club raise no more than £100m.

That means, should they fail to qualify for the Champions League, other sales will be required to complete the overhaul Solskjaer wants.

Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and James Maddison are all wanted by the Red Devils with Ed Woodward expecting a £150m spend on new players this summer.

The performances of Dean Henderson at Sheffield United on loan, as well as Sergio Romero's ability at backup, have reportedly convinced the United hierarchy that De Gea is no longer irreplaceable.

  • PACE MAKER

Manchester United could look to bring in a speedy centre-back to partner their skipper Harry Maguire at the back.

According to journalist and transfer expert Duncan Castles, the Old Trafford club may be set to splash more cash in the summer window.

Maguire himself arrived from Leicester for £80million last time out and he may be about to be joined by a new partner – despite seemingly forming a bond with Swedish ace Victor Lindelof in the heart of defence.

Castles told the Transfer Window podcast: ” You could, and I think this is where they will have to go if they want to upgrade the defence, put a higher quality centre-back in beside Maguire and he will need to be quick, will need to be very quick, to compensate for Maguire’s lack of pace and his positional errors.”

  • FRED AND BURIED

Manchester United midfielder Fred is set to miss out on his side's Europa League clash against Club Brugge tonight.

Metro UK are reporting the Brazilian did not link up with the side at the team hotel earlier this afternoon.

The Last 32 second leg at Old Trafford hangs in the balance after last week's 1-1 draw inBelgium.

Norwegian boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to name his strongest side for the decisive second game in the tie but it looks like he will be deprived of one of his side's most impressive players this season.
