  • ROY KEANE has incredibly revealed he once had a major scrap with Peter Schmeichel in a hotel reception – with Sir Alex Ferguson left absolutely fuming.

The former Manchester United hothead was speaking about the clash between Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez in the St George's Park canteen earlier this week.

The Irishman recalled: “From my own experience, I've had a fight with a player.

“[It was with] Peter Schmeichel in a hotel. we were in the lobby, it was at 4 o'clock and there weren't many people around.

“We got pulled by the manager and he said we were both a disgrace.

“To be fair to Peter he apologised and we moved on. It never affected us as team-mates.

“Also, when I hear about the PR side of [fights] and players having to apologise to the group… I don't get all that side of it.

“If you've had a bust-up with somebody, why would you apologise to your team-mates?

“It's all part of the game and generally speaking if players do have a bit of a bust-up they end up being fine afterwards because sometimes you've got to clear the air.

“There's tension involved and players care.”

  • OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has instructed the United hierarchy to go all out to sign Erling Haaland and named his price for the striker, according to reports.

And it has been claimed in Solskjaer's native Norway that the Old Trafford boss is now ready to force through a move after signalling to chiefs how much he is ready to pay.

Haaland, who played under Solskjaer at Molde, has the Champions League theme tune as his morning alarm after becoming top scorer in the competition with seven goals.

The Metro add that the wheels are now in motion for United to submit an official offer.

  • MARIO MANDZUKIC could snub Man Utd for a move to America.

Calciomercato claims the veteran striker will leave Juventus this January.

And United are hopeful of capturing his signature to boost their options in attack.

However, Mandzukic is said to be considering an offer from the MLS and can see himself playing State-side.

  • DINAMO ZAGREB coach Nenad Bjelica says Man Utd target Dani Olmo is playing his final games for the club.

He commented: “Dani is impressive both as a footballer and as a person.

“He’s very modest and ambitious at the same time. He wants to learn every day and I’m proud to have him on the team.

“I think we are just watching his last matches at Dinamo.

“There are so many offers. In the end, the club and the player will decide together what is best for both sides. He is ready to play for the best clubs in Europe.”
