Anthony Joshua predicts KSI will defeat Logan Paul in YouTube rematch and backs fight after criticism from boxing fans – The Sun
ANTHONY JOSHUA has backed pal KSI to beat YouTube rival Logan Paul – and defended the criticised professional contest.
The two internet superstars boxed to a draw in an exhibition bout last year with a rematch slated ever since.
But with the announcement of the second instalment came the news that the YouTubers will turn pro, which caused uproar across the boxing circle.
However, ex-unified heavyweight king Joshua praised the rivals for putting “all eyes on boxing” ahead of their November 9 fight in Los Angeles.
He said: “I think it’s sick.
“He could have promoted it from a point of view that’s non-boxing, but getting their licenses, no head guards, rounds of boxing.
“What people have to realise is, you have to put all eyes on boxing for us all to thrive.
“So KSI and Logan Paul have a bigger following than me and most of the heavyweights combined.”
In the initial fight, which sold over 1million pay-per-views, Paul raced to an early lead with decent had speed and accuracy.
But KSI, who beat Brit YouTuber Joe Weller in February 2018, proved the fitter down the stretch to claw back a draw.
Staying loyal to his friend, AJ backed KSI to triumph on his pro debut and hand Paul a bitter defeat.
He added: “That’s a tough one.
“I’m going KSI. He’s done it before, but Logan Paul is a big unit.
“He’s done it before, he’s been in there and that experience is good.”
