Aston Villa in talks with Barcelona over £3m transfer for Louie Barry, 16, just six months after moving to Spain – The Sun
ASTON VILLA are in negotiations with Barcelona to bring youngster Louie Barry back to England, according to reports.
The 16-year-old striker left West Brom for Spain in July but is interested in a return home after growing discontent with changes at the club.
According to the Daily Mail, the Baggies have reported Barca to Fifa having failed to receive the £130,000 compensation fee when he joined the youth academy.
But it won't affect Barry's switch to Villa Park should the two clubs agree a fee in the region of £3million.
Barry joined their youth set up and became the first Englishman to live at La Masia academy that has brought through the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi.
He has been part of the Under-19 side and even scored on his debut after turning down Paris Saint-Germain for the Catalan side.
Villa's academy manager Mark Harrison knows Barry well from his time working as a youth coach at West Brom.
