Chelsea set for mass transfer clear out with NINE players on chopping block including Ziyech and Alonso | The Sun
CHELSEA owner Todd Boehly is reportedly planning to release NINE players before the transfer window closes – with Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso at the forefront.
The Blues have brought in a slew of new stars including Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Cesare Casadei, and Carney Chukwuemeka so far this summer.
And the West Londoners still plan on recruiting Wesley Fofana, Anthony Gordon, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Plus a move for Aubameyang's Barcelona team-mate Frenkie de Jong is still on the cards.
The acquisition of the aforementioned group could see the Blues' spending top £400million – smashing Real Madrid's 2019 record of £270m in the process.
And Boehly plans to trim the Blues squad down dramatically in order to make way for new talent, according to The Express.

Emerson Palmieri looks set to be the first star out the exit after sealing a £15m move to West Ham.
SunSport revealed that the Hammers revived their interest in the defender, and Fabrizio Romano claims his switch to East London should be completed today.
Disgruntled ace Hakim Ziyech could be the next to go after his brother posted a snap of him in an Ajax shirt, fuelling rumours that the winger's exit is imminent.
Ziyech's attacking counterpart Christian Pulisic's dad also implied his son could be on the move by liking a tweet claiming Blues boss Thomas Tuchel 'destroys players.'

Alonso packed his bags for Barcelona last week, but his switch to Spain has reportedly been held up as the La Liga outfit need to register their summer signings before bringing in anyone else.
Youngsters Calum Hudson-Odoi, Trevor Chalobah, Ethan Ampadu, and Billy Gilmour are all poised for loan moves away from Stamford Bridge.
Hudson Odoi has been in talks with Newcastle over a loan switch, and Chalobah is being tracked by Inter Milan.
Ampadu and Gilmour's futures are less certain as the pair weren't given squad numbers ahead of the new season.
