Diego Simeone's son hints Cristiano Ronaldo is joining Atletico Madrid by liking tweet about wantaway Man Utd star | The Sun

DIEGO SIMEONE'S son has hinted at Cristiano Ronaldo joining his dad at Atletico Madrid by "liking" a tweet about the wantaway forward.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer amid claims he is unhappy at Manchester United.

And despite Chelsea and Bayern Munich at one point circling, Atletico has emerged as frontrunners to sign the Portuguese superstar.

Further fuel was added to the fire by the son of Simeone reacting online to reports Ronaldo was set to join Atletico.

The tweet read: "Cristiano Ronaldo decides to return to Madrid… to play for Atleti.

"Jorge Mendes, his agent, presses for CR7 to reach the Metropolitan."

Ronaldo could EXTEND contract, De Jong fumes at Barca, Tielemans interest

The report was "liked" by Simeone's son Gianluca on Twitter.

Despite Atletico's interest in Ronaldo, the club will have to raise £34million in sales if they are to fund a bid.

According to AS, Simeone feels he could be the perfect replacement to Luis Suarez – who left at the end of last season when his contract expired.

But in order to do so they will first need to sell players to the sum of £34m.
