Doncaster preview: Racecard, analysis and tips for Sunday's feature contest on Town Moor

THE mares hit top billing at Donny on Sunday as a fiercely competitive field lines up for the Listed Silver Vase.

Seven go to post for the £75,000 prize, won last year by Lady Buttons.

Philip Kirby's mare again has a big chance of landing the contest, having shown she's as good as ever with a fine win in Listed company on reappearance.

She followed that with a respectable effort in Grade 1 company and has leading claims back over fences at a track she loves.

Three of her four starts on Town Moor have resulted in easy wins and although this is her toughest test to date at the track, she has a great shout against her own sex.

In a race bursting with quality, BetVictor Gold Cup winner Happy Diva certainly can't be discounted.

Kerry Lee's strong traveller put it all together at Cheltenham for their big handicap at the beginning of the season and although this is technically harder for her at the weights, she is a class act on the up.

The last time she took on her own sex over fences she beat the very classy Magic Of Light, and her claims are there to see.

Four-time seeking CASABLANCA MIX was an impressive winner of a weaker contest at Aintree and is a mare going places fast.

This trip and track suit perfectly and her jumping stands her in good stead anywhere she goes, so there's nothing to suggest she won't progress further.

Nicky Henderson has kept his powder dry with the daughter of Shirocco, not overbearing her, and if she wins this then expect her to take her chance in Grade 1 contests.

The ground has come right for her and she'll take a world of beating.

Brilliant mare La Bague Au Roi has floundered so far this season but she's had to take part in both the Charlie Hall and the Peterborough Chase – and this is definitely easier.

At her best she's the class horse in the race but she needs to show more and it could just be she's not quite the horse she was last year.

Of the others, Dalila Du Seuil is an interesting mare considering she's rated only 1lb off La Bague Au Roi, though this is likely to be too tough on her first run back.

Holly Flight and Queen's Magic should be outclassed.
