Eddie Hearn challenges Tyson Fury's dad John to Ferrero Rocher challenge after 56-year-old 'sets Guinness World Record'
EDDIE HEARN has agreed to take on John Fury in a Ferrero Rocher eating competition once Anthony Joshua's scrap with Tyson is in the bag.
While his son is the current WBC champ, John earned a title of his own as the unofficial world record holder for devouring the posh chocolates.
Fury senior polished off ten inside a minute to beat the previous record set in 2012.
The 56-year-old was chuffed to bits with his champion eating efforts, raising both his hands aloft in celebration before high-fiving his son and coach SugarHill Steward.
He said: "I said I was good at something.
"I've won the world title at something!"
But Matchroom promoter Hearn is determined to claim his title and joked: "If Fury – AJ gets made… because obviously, I need to break the ice with John Fury before he breaks my neck, I would like to challenge him to the Ferrero Rocher challenge.
“Because I’m a slob and I eat for England, I think I could beat his time, but I won’t do it until we make that fight, and if we make that fight, I will beat John Fury at the Ferrero Rocher challenge.
“I just know I’m a gannet, I eat like a pig.
"Are you allowed to drink water like he did?
“Well if you’re allowed to drink water then I’ll do the same, and I believe I could beat his time. It’s great content either way.
“Once that fight gets made and announced I’ll beat him, only at Ferrero Rocher eating, nothing else."
Like all British boxing fans, Hearn is desperate to arrange a big-money scrap between WBA, WBO and IBF champ Joshua and Fury.
AJ will need to beat Bulgarian brute Kubrat Pulev in December before turning his attentions to the Gypsy King.
Both Joshua and Fury have agreed terms on a sensational two-fight deal to take place in 2021.
And Matchroom promoter Hearn has revealed how he is ready to send out a formal contract for the undisputed domestic dust-up.
