Everton 0-2 Norwich City: Canaries off foot of table with gutsy win
Norwich City moved off the foot of the Premier League and ended a run of seven games without a win with a gutsy away victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
Todd Cantwell scored early in the second half, and substitute Dennis Srbeny sealed the Canaries’ first three points since they beat champions Manchester City on 14 September with a goal in stoppage time at the end of the match.
Oriel Hernandez had gone close for Norwich before the break when he forced Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford into an excellent low save.
Everton were short of threat and came closest to scoring when Cenk Tosun’s shot in the second half was turned away by Norwich keeper Tim Krul.

Norwich’s third win of the season sees them rise two places to 20th, while Everton’s third home defeat of the campaign means they slip to 15th place.
Gylfi Sigurdsson had several chances as the hosts improved for a spell in the second half, but the Everton’s captain could only shoot straight at Krul with the best of them.
Sigurdsson also seemed placed for a chance from a free-kick late in the game, but Lucas Digne stepped up instead and could only fire in a weak effort that Krul saved comfortably.
