Mike Tyson reveals would have never been able to become a UFC star – because he hates feet – The Sun
MIKE TYSON revealed he would never have been able to fight in the UFC – because he hates feet.
The boxing legend has become a close friend of UFC president Dana White, regularly attending shows cageside.
Tyson has previously claimed if MMA was as big as it is today when he ruled the heavyweight division in the ring, then he would have transitioned sports.
But in a recent interview with GQ Sports, the 53-year-old went undercover and responded to random questions from fans.
After being asked how Tyson would have fared as a UFC fighter, he responded: “I don’t know what I would do in the UFC.
“Because I watched the UFC a couple of times, and I watched these guys step on people’s feet.
“And I have the worst feet in the world. And if somebody steps on my feet, I would totally tap out.
“I would just give up it would be a no-brainer.”
Bizarrely Tyson has featured on the video games UFC 2 and UFC 3 as a guest fighter, joined by martial arts icon Bruce Lee.
But “Iron Mike” has inspired MMA fighters to his copy his “Peek-a-boo” boxing style of crouching low before leaping in with heavy hooks.
UFC legend Rashad Evans revealed at an NFL media scrum, accompanied by Tyson, that he was seeking tactics from the heavyweight icon.
Evans has even been a guest on the Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson podcast.
