Millionaire Amir Khan training like skint novice to guarantee dream Manny Pacquiao fight – The Sun

MILLIONAIRE veteran Amir Khan is copying Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and training like a skint novice to guarantee his dream fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Bolton’s 32-year-old welterweight added another £4million to his fortune when he faced WBO champ Terence Crawford in April but suffered a hit to his record and reputation when he surrendered after six rounds.

Khan has been offered a big-bucks lifeline fight in Saudi Arabia against the eight-weight Filipino icon in November, if he can get through a tune-up fight with Billy Dib in Jeddah on Friday.

And new trainer and former super-bantamweight world champ Clarence ‘Bones’ Adams insists he is seriously earning his income, he said: “Amir has the ability and he wants to work, once I lost that will to work I retired.

“He puts in the effort of a broke 26-year-old and that is all you can ask for.

“It’s very rare, to have all that money and still be hungry, I take my hat off to him.”

Adams insists the only ageing fighter he has seen put in a similar amount of effort is 42-year-old undefeated multi-millionaire Mayweather.

The garish ring legend uses his social media platforms to boast of his unquestionable wealth and very questionable style.

But behind the scenes, away from the cameras, he is a super-human trainer that Amir will do well to emulate.

He said: “He is like Floyd Mayweather like because people don’t realise how hard Floyd still trains despite being so wealthy.

“Floyd still does five hour sessions, getting through two or three shirts, people don’t realise how hard he works.

“The more money he gets, the harder he works and I see that in Amir.”
