Mourinho is the daddy for Dele Alli as double for Spurs has star back in England frame – The Sun

NEVER mind jibes about his brother, Dele Alli showed once again under Jose Mourinho he is the daddy.

Tottenham’s rejuvenated ace scored two goals and set up the other in their 3-2 win over Bournemouth to continue his revival under his new gaffer.

The Special One said on the Friday Spurs’ new stadium is the best he has ever seen – and he has seen a fair few.

But surely the most impressive piece of regeneration in N17 has been Alli.

The midfielder was out of form, out of the England squad and quite frankly, running out of ideas when Mourinho arrived as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement 10 days ago.

Jose had a dig at his poor displays by asking him: “Are you Dele Alli or Dele Alli’s brother?”

In all honesty, his form had been so poor he could have been mistaken for his maiden aunt.

But Mourinho’s methods and mind-games with Alli have worked wonders and the 23-year-old is looking again like that hot talent who was twice crowned Young Player of the Year and tipped as a future England legend.

OUTSTANDING DISPLAY

He followed up his much improved performances in last week’s 3-2 win at West Ham and Tuesday’s 4-2 Champions League triumph at home to Olympiakos, with an outstanding display against the Cherries.

If he continues like this he will surely be recalled to Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions next squad in March.

Mourinho has got him playing an attacking midfielder again and Alli has responded with three goals in his last two matches.

The star who looked leggy and disinterested a few weeks ago, now has a new lease of life – and you have to credit Mourinho.
