Pep Guardiola and Sergio Aguero in furious touchline bust-up after striker subbed caught on live TV – The Sun

PEP GUARDIOLA and Sergio Aguero were involved in a furious touchline bust-up after the striker was subbed against Tottenham.

The Argentine was preferred to Gabriel Jesus to start the huge clash at the Etihad and rewarded his manager by netting his sides second goal.

However, Lucas Moura came off the bench in the second half to haul Spurs level and Guardiola reacted by hooking Aguero for the Brazilian.

The 31-year-old was visibly annoyed as he left the pitch and attempted to barge past his manager on his way into the stands.

Guardiola was shrugged off in his attempts to grab Aguero by the arm and has to resort to putting his hand on his strikers chest.

The Argentine retaliating by giving the Spaniard an earful and assistant manager Mikel Arteta is forced to step in and separate the two.

And rival fans on Twitter were delighted at the potential fall-out, with one saying: "Even Aguero's tired of Pep's antics in front of the camera."

While another added: "Aguero fuming with Pep for subbing him off… Might not be seeing him for a couple of matches!"

One pointed out that Pep's annoyance with his forward could be a tactical one by writing: "Guardiola seemed upset that Aguero took the long route off the pitch with his team looking for a goal."

The two were seen embracing and exchanging words in the aftermath of Jesus' stoppage-time winner that was later ruled out by VAR for handball.

Which led co-commentator Gary Neville to cheekily add: "Sergio might want to retract that hug."
