STEWART DONALD is ready to sell Sunderland in a £50million deal to an American-based financier.

The Black Cats owner had talks with the takeover team on Friday and they watched the 2-1 win over Portsmouth at home yesterday.

The multi-national group are in the computer industry.

They announced their interest in recent weeks and moved fast.

Donald has only been in charge at the club for just over a year.

And he was disappointed when a bid by US-based businessman Mark Campbell’s team fell through over the club’s value.

However, Donald was also unsure about Campbell and his backers.

But insiders say he is very happy with the new people.

Sunderland are expected to confirm the advanced talks this week and the move would go through subject to due diligence.
