FOX POWER looks too strong for his rivals. The four-year-old has shown his best form on the sand over this trip and was a convincing Listed winner at Newcastle in April.
He was rusty on comeback at Lingfield before going close here last time when just nailed on the line.
Via Serendipity came out on top there but there’s a big swing in the weights against him today. He should still run well but may have to settle for a place.
Red Bond has shot up 13lb for winning by more than eight lengths at Newcastle last time. That was impressive and he’s gone well over this trip and track before. He could still be ahead of the handicapper.
Kaser is respected at a big price given he’s won five times around here and is only 2lb higher than his most recent success.
Rathbone has been knocking on the door at Newcastle and was beaten just a head in this class 17 days ago.

CONCIERGE has a cracking record with Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle and made it three wins from four under the former champ here last time.
He didn’t have to hit top gear and looks a few steps ahead of the handicapper. Trainer David Loughnane has been firing in the winners and can add to his tally.
Deputise wasn’t beaten far at Lingfield eight days ago despite not getting the run of the race. He is two from two at the track and has had a helpful nudge down the weights.
Wasntexpectingthat comes to Dunstall Park for the first time but he has a cracking record at Newcastle so should like the surface.
He missed the kick before running on for second at Southwell and his rider takes off a handy 3lb which could make all the difference.

HABUB does most of his racing on the all-weather and has landed four wins, including one over this trip. He was a little unlucky not to win a hot handicap at Lingfield last time.
He pulled a little in the early stages and was blocked a couple of times in the closing stages. Dropping back a furlong along with a first-time hood could help him settle. He has few miles on the clock and should run well.
Cardsharp was placed in this last year and saves his best for this trip. King of the sand Adam Kirby takes the ride for Mark Johnston, which is a positive.
Urban Icon has Ryan Moore in the saddle and ran well when fourth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. He has been off the track since a solid third at Newmarket in July and has talent, although he may need this comeback.
Gulliver is more than capable of making his presence felt in Listed company but may be just better over 6f.
AYR

ARDERA CROSS definitely has his quirks but his record over fences is good and he won nicely at Musselburgh last time. His only visit to Ayr resulted in a victory too and this is much his best distance.
He goes from the front, which often works here, and a 4lb rise looks more than fair.
Clan Legend is dropping in class after a good second at Wetherby. He has no issues dropping back to this trip and has every chance from the same handicap mark.
Tonto’s Spirit is an honest performer so it was surprise to see him well beaten last time out at Christmas.
The break may have done him good as he landed two wins and a second from his three chases before that. He’s proven in this grade and can’t be discounted.
Drumconnor Lad battled well to score in a big field at Leopardstown and saves his best for this sort of trip. A 9lb rise in the weights gives him more to do but he could cope with that.

THEFLICKERINGLIGHT was in cracking form in December with two quick wins in testing ground.
Those efforts took their toll when she struggled at Doncaster soon after but she’s had a nice couple of months off now and should be ready to go again.
She revels in the mud and will have no issues with this slightly longer distance.
Jessiemac came from a long way back when second at Newcastle and didn’t have enough left in the tank to hit the front.
The handicapper has left her mark alone and this drop in distance could help too.
Off The Hook has run well here before and has cheekpieces on for the first time after running in snatches when still third on Town Moor last month.
She went close at Newbury before that and looks on a handy mark.

THE CON MAN was a solid fifth in a hotter race than this at Ascot last time on the back of a convincing success at Kelso.
He also went close on his handicap debut at Haydock when the testing ground suited well. It’s still early days over timber for him and he can improve again.
Whoshotthesheriff should find this a lot easier than the red-hot Betfair Hurdle he was midfield in last time.
He might have been closer but for a couple of errors and has a decent engine. These calmer waters should suit.
Better Getalong has three wins to his name around here and was again on the podium over this distance on his latest start. He’s off 4lb lower than when fifth in this race last season.
Eternally Yours was second that day but has been a bit below that form on both starts since. She may have needed those after a break and is another contender.
