Patrick Mahomes paid his respects to the GOAT after coming up short in Super Bowl 2021.

“You’re a legend, man,” Mahomes told Tom Brady after his Chiefs fell to Brady’s Buccaneers, 31-9, on Sunday.

Brady responded, “You’re a stud, bro.”

Sunday was billed as a can’t-miss matchup between Brady, the 43-year-old ageless wonder, and Mahomes, the 25-year-old magician considered to be the heir to Brady’s throne.

But while Brady did his part, winning his seventh Super Bowl and fifth MVP award after throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns, Mahomes and the Chiefs were shut down by Tampa’s defense all night.

The Big Game marked the second playoff meeting between the two quarterbacks, with Brady winning the first in the 2019 AFC championship.

After that game, Brady famously pulled Mahomes aside for a pep talk.

Mahomes won the Super Bowl the following season.
