'90 Day Fiancé': Are Sumit and Jenny Still Together?
Many 90 Day Fiancé fans have a new favorite couple — Sumit and Jenny. These two had a rocky start, with a surprisingly deceptive twist revealed by Sumit rather early on in their relationship. However, they seem to have grown close and committed, despite their age difference — Jenny is 30 years Sumit’s senior.
However, Jenny was recently spotted in the U.S. without Sumit, something that has fans wondering if the couple’s relationship has survived.
Sumit catfished Jenny at first
When Sumit and Jenny first began talking, their relationship was far from fully open and honest. Sumit had convinced Jenny that he was actually a male model named Michael Jones. The two communicated via Facebook and fell in love.
Sumit and Jenny gradually developed feelings for one another. Once Sumit realized he was falling in love, he decided to come clean about his deception. He revealed to the U.S. grandmother that he was actually living with his parents in Delhi, India and that he worked in a call center, not as a male model.
Jenny forgave Sumit for his deception and traveled to India to meet him. Jenny had previously told cameras, “You know, what you do for love, sometimes is unbelievable. I think that everyone is entitled to happiness… I didn’t really think I would find love again, to tell you the truth.”
She added, “I was married for 15 years, Everything was fine as far as I knew, so when I found out he was leaving me for somebody else, that was a huge blow to my self-esteem. And after my divorce, life was scary.”
Sumit’s parents don’t approve
Sumit’s parents, however, do not seem to approve of his 90 Day Fiancé relationship. It seems they were not happy with the fact that Sumit decided to be with someone 30 years his senior. In fact, Jenny is older than Sumit’s own mother.
Sumit decided not to tell his parents about his marriage to Jenny at first. Sumit’s mother was not happy about Jenny when they met for the first time. Sumit’s mother gave him an ultimatum, telling him that it was either Jenny or her in the apartment, not both.
As a result, Sumit and Jenny found their own place. Sumit decided to try and find a way to marry Jenny without his large family figuring it out, while Jenny looked for new work in Delhi.
Sumit has had to pretend that he moved for work, not to stay with Jenny. In the past, he’s left Jenny alone at the apartment in order to go home and appease his family.
“He had to go back to his family’s house, so I’m just kind of by myself in the apartment now,” Jenny told her daughter during a video call. She added that he went home to appease his parents.
Are they still together?
Fans have wondered if the two are still together — for some, the idea of such an older woman and a young, healthy man being together seemed unrealistic.
Jenny once said, “It’s been really hard for me to be alone. I came to India to be with Sumit forever, but he kind of abandoned me and I miss my daughters, I miss my grandkids. When you’re left alone and you’re in a different country and don’t know what to do, all kinds of things are going to start going through your mind. So, now I’ve started wondering, did I make a mistake coming here again? It’s possible he doesn’t ever want to marry me. Maybe he doesn’t ever want to go against his family.”
Luckily, it seems as if the 90 Day Fiancé couple is still going strong. Jenny and Sumit regularly post pictures of one another on Instagram still, and seem to be quite happy with one another.
