'90 Day Fiancé': David Reveals the Insane Amount of Money He Spent On Lana
’90 Day Fiancé has done a great job of showing the lengths people will go to in the name of love. From changing religions to trekking around the world, the cast members have done some pretty wild things to prove their commitment to their partners.
For David Murphey of the fourth season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, there truly are no limits to what he’ll do for his girlfriend, Lana. In a recent tell-all special, David opened up about their relationship and revealed that he’s spent well over six-figures on the Ukrainian beauty.
A timeline of David and Lana’s relationship
David and Lana’s relationship has always been a bit mind-boggling to viewers. They met online over seven years ago, communicating over a website that David financed. The pair made plans to meet four times over those years, but Lana ghosted him every time, convincing David’s friends and fans that she was a “catfish” out to scam him.
On the fifth meet-up, Lana finally showed up, but their interaction was beyond awkward. While David was thrilled to meet her, Lana seemed tense and distant. To make matters worse, it was discovered that she was on multiple dating sites. But despite this, David’s feelings never wavered.
He told her he loved her and bought her a fancy iPhone so they could communicate easier. Then he proposed to Lana at the airport on his way home to Las Vegas. Lana said yes, but her facial expression didn’t exactly broadcast positive emotions.
David updates fans on his relationship with Lana
In the tell-all special, David clarified that he had actually traveled to Ukraine over to 20 times to see Lana. He also revealed that he spent way more on her than viewers realize.
“I mean to be honest, it’s probably a quarter million to $300,000 or so,” he confessed.
What makes it worse is that they aren’t even together at the moment. David went on to say that he hadn’t talked to Lana in six days after she stopped responding to his messages.
“She told me a couple weeks ago that all she wanted was a white picket fence and a simple life with me, traveling in the RV. She loves that idea, but right now, today, I think we’re not together,” said the 60-year-old. “That’s not saying we won’t be together in the future, but we’re not together [now].”
Is Lana is using him? Ed thinks so
After David’s revelations, Ed suggested that Lana was only using him, pointing to her ongoing use of dating websites. Previously, David said Lana hadn’t deleted her accounts because her nails made it “difficult for her to manipulate the iPhone keyboard.”
“David, you can’t write this stuff!” Ed exclaimed. “You can’t make this up! Her nails are too long to use an iPhone? Oh my god…$300,000 and long nails? $300,000 and long nails.”
But David continued to defend Lana, saying he understands why she hasn’t gotten rid of her profiles.
“It’s very rare for any of these girls — and I know hundreds of girls that have gotten married here, that are here in this country right now, people that I know that got married this way … They do not leave the websites instantly. They leave the websites usually when they leave the country,” he explained.
But still, people aren’t buying it.
