'90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way': Binyam Gets Frustrated With Ariela for Comparing the U.S. to Ethiopia
Ariela Danielle and Biniyam Shibre are trying to adjust to their new life as parents in Ethiopia on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. But the couple doesn’t always see eye-to-eye when it comes to finances. And Biniyam has been getting frustrated with Ariela for repeatedly comparing Ethiopia to the United States.

Ariela has been reluctant about her move to Ethiopia. Earlier this season on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, the pregnant reality star admitted she was worried about the country’s substandard health care. And she confessed she was only going there so Biniyam could be there for the birth of their baby.
When Ariela arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Biniyam took her to the flat he rented for them. Without trying to break his heart, Ariela pointed out some of the apartment’s sub-par facilities.
“This bathroom looks like something from one of the Saw movies,” she told producers. “I hate it — I traveled a lot of places and lived in precarious conditions. But now we’re gonna have a baby we’re starting a family, and this horrible apartment gives me second thoughts about wanting to stay in Ethiopia.”
Biniyam showed Ariela a few other dilapidated apartments, but she refused to stay in any of them. Eventually, the two agreed to rent out a mid-range flat that wasn’t as luxurious as Ariela wanted, but also not as run-down as the one’s Biniyam found.
Biniyam gets frustrated with Ariela on ’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’
On a recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, the couple went car shopping so that Biniyam wouldn’t have to take public transportation to work anymore. But upon seeing how expensive older models of ordinary cars were in Ethiopia, Ariela was shocked. She started comparing prices to American vehicles and realized she’d be paying double.
The car salesman noted that vehicles in the country were far more expensive because they were land-locked. And she also explained that buyers essentially pay double the car’s value because of the high tax rate.
But when Ariela continued to question the high prices, Biniyam started getting frustrated. He said he didn’t like how she repeatedly compares things in Ethiopia to America.
“It’s very frustrating to me when Ari compares life in Ethiopia to life in the U.S.,” he told producers.
But Ariela revealed that the two are currently living off of her savings. And she doesn’t want to spend all of her money on a car when there’s a baby on the way.
Ariela wants fans to know she appreciates Ethiopia
Despite her living conditions, the expensive cars, and the questionable health care system in Ethiopia, Ariela wants fans to know she truly appreciates the African country. On Instagram, the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star shared beautiful pictures of her baby’s homeland and encouraged people to visit.
“I am posting these pictures of beautiful places in Ethiopia to show the world that there is more to the country than poverty and desert,” she captioned the photos of the Simien mountains and Gonder’s Fasilides Castle.
“Ethiopia is incredibly lush and green with an ancient history,” Ariela added. “It is the only country in Africa never to have been colonized. They speak over 90 languages with as many ethnic groups and cultures. I love Ethiopia and I hope after this mess is over people will visit the country.”
