Alex Jones revealed that she may have suffered a slight wardrobe blunder with her selected outfit for The One Show on Thursday, April 7.

The Welsh TV star, 45, appeared alongside pal Gethin Jones, wearing a red oversized American style sweatshirt that resembled clothing worn by the likes of the Backstreet Boys and N-Sync during the height of boyband fame in the 1990s.

With the band due to appear on screens via video link, Alex doubted her outfit choice.

She said to Gethin: "I've realised I've come dressed as a Backstreet Boy fan."

As her co-star chuckled along with the joke.

Fans of the BBC programme went wild as the five band members appeared on screens, including Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough.

The five-some appeared on the show to promote their 2022 DNA world tour.

And viewers at home couldn't get enough.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: "#TheOneShow I still love the backstreet boys, always were my favourite boyband."

"OMG Backstreet boys, I really wanted it that way! They all look so good & yummy, gracefully aged! I can’t even pick a fave song, all their songs were fire #TheOneShow," gushed another.

A third beamed: "Backstreet boys #TheOneShow," along with a meme that included the word "fangirling".

"Wow Fantastic really happy to see @backstreetboys now live from Vagas on #TheOneShow bring on the tour guys," chimed a fourth.

While a fifth said: "So excited Cannot wait to see you in the UK later on in the year. @backstreetboys #theoneshow."

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the interview, the American singers revealed that their favourite thing about the UK was fish, chips and mushy peas.

However, AJ added: "I've never understood beans for breakfast though, it's just weird."
