Amanda Holden cleared for shouting 'F***' live on Britain's Got Talent

AMANDA Holden has been cleared after saying “f***” live during a creepy magic act on Britain’s Got Talent.

Watchdog Ofcom received 56 complaints when she swore in May.

She was led on stage by The Haunting as part of a performance which had been introduced as “one of the scariest acts we’ve ever had on the show”.

The act saw Amanda, 48, contacted by a ghost called Agatha, who she believed was leading her back onto the stage.

The judge lost her cool and shouted: “F***."

As soon as the act was over host Ant McPartlin, 43, apologised for the bad language.

He said: “We’d like to apologise if you heard any bad language there from Amanda. She was very, very scared as you can see. Wow, let’s cross over to our judges.”

Amanda replied: “I just really want to apologise if I said anything.

“I said a really terrible word. I know, I know there’s kids watching. I know my kids are watching so massive apologies.

“Everybody’s watching so I apologise for that. But I can honestly tell you I feel terrified. I mean it is a terrifying, amazing, thrilling experience. But I wouldn’t want anyone to go through that. I tell you what though, it’s amazing, you’re amazing.”

Boss Simon Cowell, 59, rubbed salt in the wound by confirming they had heard it and were going to be landed in hot water.

He said: “We know, we heard everything. It was like being next door to you on your honeymoon night. But let me tell you something, compared to everyone else so far this is by far the most interesting act by a mile we have seen. You know why, we don’t see this on the show.

“I know, I know we are going to get in trouble over this. Don’t try this at home, apologise for the swearing but it was amazing and I am a ghost.”

Ofcom, confirming it would not be upheld, said it took into consideration that it was a live broadcast and was a “spontaneous reaction” from Amanda as well as the apologies that followed.
