Apprentice fans shocked by Sophie's 'rude' reaction as she's fired by Lord Sugar – but did you spot it?

APPRENTICE star Sophie Wilding shocked viewers with her "rude" reaction after being fired by Lord Sugar.

The latest boardroom casualty caused controversy last night over the way she handled her exit.

Candidates usually thank Lord Sugar for the opportunity after he points at them and says "you're fired".

But project manager Sophie refused and instead simply stood up and walked out.

Her abrupt exit came after she failed in the task to create driverless "party pods" for the NEC in Birmingham.

One viewer said: "Sophie did not say thank you for the opportunity to Lord Sugar…Tut Tut! #TheApprentice."

Another added: "Ooh Sophie what no, thank you Lord Sugar for the opportunity or Karen and Tim. Bit sulky #TheApprentice."

Someone else said: "Did Sophie even say “thanks for the opportunity” babe dipped quickly #TheApprentice."

The teams were asked to brand a driverless Pod and sell it to two big corporate clients.

Apprentice hopeful Sophie, who owns a cocktail bar, put herself forward as Diverse team's project manager saying she had "a passion for interior design".

She said her vision was to create an "Instagrammable" and "classy" motor and insisted it should be "tacky".

Kathryn and Akshay invented the name StarPod and a colourful logo, with Sophie designing the interior in pink and adding a bar, as well as a mini-fridge to store booze.

Seeing the results in the boardroom, Lord Sugar said: "It looks to me like a Pimp-mobile."

Team Infinity, led by Akeem Bundu-Kamara, secured over £1million in sales for their environmentally focused Beepure Pod, sending them safely through to next week.

And Lord Sugar's axe fell on project manager Sophie in the losing team.

Reflecting on what went wrong, Sophie exclusively told The Sun after her exit: "For me, I think a three-year-old could have come up with those colours, the logo and the name; like minimal amount of thought went into that, and I just felt the marketing team wanted to be spoon fed every single type of information.

"Watching the show back, the other team were really creative, they thought of so many ideas themselves, they didn't need every single little bit of information to be told to them by Akeem, and I felt I had to do that with my team."
