    Carol Vorderman shared the sweet secret meaning behind her name when she appeared on This Morning.

    During Friday’s visit to the ITV studios, Dermot O’Leary welcomed viewers back to the show alongside his co-host Alison Hammond.

    The presenting duo welcomed the former Countdown star and financial broadcaster Mathew Wright onto the sofa to discuss the main headlines in the news today.

    One of the biggest stories on everyone’s lips was the upcoming postal strike which is set to take place over the festive holidays.

    The former Big Brother star confessed that she regularly leaves her Christmas shopping to the last minute, but was left gobsmacked when the queen of organisation admitted she was guilty of it too.

    It was at this point that the mum-of-two went on to reveal the sweet meaning behind her name on the show.

    The mathematician revealed: “I'll tell you why it is, it's because I was born on Christmas Eve, so I was named after A Christmas Carol so it’s always a mad time of year for me.

    “Everyone says because your birthday's at Christmas we're gonna buy you an extra big present but they never do” she quipped.

    Utterly gobsmacked by the revelation, Alison gushed: “That is so interesting! I will never forget your birthday again, Carol. The Christmas Carol.”

    It comes after the blonde bombshell shared her thoughts on the Autumn budget announcement which was confirmed in government last night.

    Showing off her mathematical skills, the TV personality shut down some of the claims made in the Houses of Parliament as she worked out uncovered some errors when crunching the numbers.

    Fans of the ITV show soon flooded to Twitter to praise Carol for her powerful comments on the daytime show.

    One user penned: "Fantastic discussion with Carol & Matthew today. It's great to see people reminding us of the corruption of the Tories and all of OUR money they have wasted. #ThisMorning."
