Coronation Street moved to late-night slot for explosive Gary Windass storyline
It has been confirmed that Coronation Street will return for a stint of late-night episodes later this year.
Corrie boss Iain MacLeod has hinted at "explosive" scenes in the coming months on the ITV soap, and teased one major storyline that will take centre stage in May.
The dramatic plot will tie in with the special late-night episodes in May, around the time of the Britain's Got Talent live semi-finals.
The ITV soap annually airs special big episodes around this time which are pushed back to a later time plot of 9pm.

Bosses often take advantage the shake-up, showcasing some dramatic and gory post-watershed scenes.
This year seems to be no different with Iain confirming to Inside Soap Magazine that there's some big scenes already planned.
Serial killer Gary Windass (Mikey North) will take centre stage in the late night episodes as the net continues to close in on him.
Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) will also be key involved in the major storyline.

Gary will be left thinking about his actions, knowing he led gunman Derek Milligan (Craige Els) to kill Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) during the siege, also injuring Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding).
The Weatherfield bad boy is still hiding the fact he murdered Rick Neelan, while he also caused the factory roof collapse which killed Rana Habeeb.
Gary was also unveiled as the new owner of Underworld factory, leaving ex lover Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) and brother Nick Tisley (Ben Price) in turmoil.
Iain told Inside Soap Magazine: "Adam is secretly conspiring against Gary, which will threaten to lead Adam, and therefore the authorities, to Rick’s final resting place.

"Whether that will actually happen or not is still to be seen – but that will precipitate a big, explosive story around the Britain’s Got Talent finals week in May."
Trouble seems to be far from over for Gary as Adam continues to delve further into his dodgy dealings.
