Coronation Street star rules out affair storyline

Coronation Street: Daisy and Ryan have heart-to-heart in hospital

Coronation Street’s Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan) has been a huge support for Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) during his recovery.

Since the attack from Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still), Daisy has been by his side, overwhelmed with guilt that he was the one who suffered the most from the acid which was intended for her.

Before the attack, Ryan was talking to Crystal who headhunted him to return to Ibiza to DJ and headline their clubs.

However, after seeing him in hospital, Crystal told Daisy that she didn’t have time for Ryan and flew back to Ibiza without telling him.

Since then, Daisy has been pretending to be Crystal and messaging Ryan on a daily basis with the intention of making him feel better about his situation.

Viewers have been theorising that Daisy and Ryan will enter an affair with one another, leaving Daisy’s partner Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) heartbroken.

But when Ryan finds out that Daisy has been faking Crystal’s messages, it could all end in tears for the pair.

Actor Ryan Prescott recently opened up about their relationship and shut down the prospect of Daisy and Ryan entering an affair.

Touching on if a relationship for the pair would be a good idea, he said: “In a weird way, I think any relationship for Ryan would be a good idea because he is so isolated right now.

“After his traumatic experience, Ryan’s natural instinct has been to reach out and grab the relationships around him to try and ground himself.

“He’s done that with Alya and taken on the heartbreak of that, he’s tried to do the same with Crystal and now she’s not replying so he just feels so alone.

“He definitely has a thing for Daisy but his confidence is so low and the reality is that he respects Daniel and he thinks that he is a great guy so he just wouldn’t want to get entwined into that in the wrong way.

“He doesn’t want to be anyone’s enemy, he’s just looking for someone to care about him.”

Charlotte Jordan also recently opened up about Daisy’s feelings for Ryan and told Metro.co.uk back in April: “It’s going to be a really confusing time for Daisy.

“She’s brushed her own recovery under the rug and is really focusing on Ryan. She feels responsible for him so her feelings are going to get really messy and she’s going to get confused it’s going to get quite chaotic.

“Then the story may morph into a ‘can you love two people at once?’ storyline. So there is potential between Ryan and Daisy for sparks to happen and things to occur.

“Obviously she’s with Daniel and that’s why there’s so much complication but there is potential in the future for complications there, 100 percent.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
