Corrie star reveals how co-star & partner treated after her after stunt filming

Coronation Street star Sally Carman has heaped praise on ‘brilliant’ fiancé and co-star Joe Duttine, revealing that he looked after her during the late night shoots for the ITV soap’s huge week.

The actress, who portrays Abi Franklin, features heavily in the ambitious episodes, which commence airing tonight (October 18) as part of the broadcaster’s ‘Super Soap Week’.

Abi is on a mission to exact revenge on Corey Brent, who brutally murdered her son Seb earlier this year. After purchasing a gun last week, the grieving mum sets off to finish the job in upcoming scenes.

But the eponymous street is rocked by a terrifying storm, which will result in the earth near the Platts’ sinkhole starting to shift, and – soon enough – Abi and Corey end up in the sewers below!

Sally, 46, took part in tense night shoots for the epic scenes, and while it all looks spectacular on camera, she told that it was tough to film.

‘We started off on the Monday and finished on Sunday. By Tuesday I felt I couldn’t do this,’ she said. ‘It was so cold and wet. As it went on, my body acclimatised.

‘It was brilliant, such an experience to have all these amazing sets and gushing water and electrical sparks and falling through trap doors.

‘It was epic and such hard work and it pushed me to my limits. I am so glad I got to do it.’

Sally explained that fiancé Joe, who plays Tim Metcalfe in the long-running serial drama, was incredibly supportive towards her on one night in particular.

‘To be fair [to Joe], there was one night I came in and he always has tea prepared and I was freezing,’ she said.

‘He laid out my pyjamas, dressing gown, ran me a bath with salts and a cup of tea. So sweet, he is brilliant!’

Couple goals.

Coronation Street kicks off its unmissable week tonight at 7:30pm on ITV.
