Corries Laura death sealed as she gets heartbreaking news after confession
Laura Neelan (Kel Allen) gets told she has just hours to live in Coronation Street scenes set to air next week.
Gary Windass (Mikey North) visits Laura in hospital and is shocked at her deterioration.
With tears in her eyes, Laura admits that she’d give anything to be able to hug daughter Kelly (Millie Gibson).
As Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and Kelly are about to leave for the hairdressing awards, Gary reveals that he’s had a call from the hospital warning him that Laura only has hours to live.
Determined that her mum is not going to ruin her day, Kelly stalks out and Maria hurries after her.
Kelly is on a high as she wins Best Trainee Stylist and knocks back the wine.
Gary arrives and appeals to her to go and visit Laura.
Will Kelly go and see her mum for what could be the final time?
Fans of the ITV soap are aware that Gary murdered Kelly's dad Rick Neelan back in 2019.
However, there was a huge twist in recent scenes that left the Weatherfield killer completely floored.
After keeping his murderous secret under wraps for almost three years, Gary came to accept that his part in Rick's death was about to unravel.
Events spiralled after Gary attempted to gain access to the site so he could once again move Rick's body, having learned it was at risk of being unearthed due to imminent building work.
After his failed attempt to access to site, Gary was more panicked than ever.
Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) knew instantly that Gary's one-man mission had failed, and they discussed the fact that it would only be a matter of time before the police arrived at their door.
Rick's dying ex-wife Laura later met with the private investigator she had hired to track him down and was told the man was almost certainly dead and that Gary was the last man to have any contact with Rick.
Laura later quizzed Gary and he eventually came clean to her.
She agreed to hear him out, and eventually understood how Rick came to be killed.
As she needed her ex to be declared dead so she could secure his money for Kelly's future, Laura told Gary she saw no other option than to report what she now knew.
Gary accepted her decision but asked her to give him enough time to talk to Maria.
While Gary conceded he was on borrowed time, Laura overheard Kelly telling pal Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) how lucky she felt to be living with Gary and Maria.
Laura was thoughtful over her daughter's words, and when Gary and Maria approached their flat they couldn't believe what they were seeing as the police led Laura away in handcuffs.
As Kelly shouted over to the cops that her mum wasn't well, Gary realised that Laura had just made the ultimate sacrifice to protect her daughter's welfare and allow him to get away with murder in the process.
With Laura's health declining fast, can Gary really let her take the blame?
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
