Countryfile: ‘Time to say goodbye’ Adam Henson emotional over heartbreaking loss

Tonight on Countryfile, Adam revealed he had to say goodbye to Archie the bull from his farm. He admitted it was with a “heavy heart” he had to bid farewell to his favourite bull. Now, Adam will have to find a replacement for his bull.

Speaking on Countryfile, Adam told viewers: “Now there’s only room for one highland bull on the farm so with a very heavy heart, I’ve got to bid a fond farewell to one of my favourites.

“I’m afraid the time has come to say goodbye to Archie.

“We’ve had him on the farm now for about five years and he’s done a fantastic job for us running with the cows and producing some lovely calves.

“But he’s still got a lot of working life left in him. A bull can work until there 10 or 12 years old.”

Adam continued: “So we’ll sell him on to another highland herd and shop around for a replacement.

“And I’ll be sorry to see him go.”

A montage of clips was then shown of Adam meeting Archie the bull for the first time and his time on the farm.

Adam could be heard telling viewers about Archie’s time on the farm and what was next.

“And what a bull he has been,” the presenter commented. “I have certainly made very happy memories with Archie.

“And over the years, I have really got to know him well.

“He was only 14 months when I bought him and he couldn’t have come from a finer home, Her Majesty the Queen’s Balmoral estate in Scotland.

“I remember bringing him back to the farm and he was quite little then.”

Laughing, Adam continued: “I didn’t know if he would be able to reach the cows.
